<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of displaying motion pictures free from distortion. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has an image display section comprising pixels disposed in a two-dimensional configuration, in which each pixel includes a light emitting element, a driving transistor that supplies a current corresponding to gradation display data to the light emitting element, a data line and a light emission period control line. The data line supplies gradation display data corresponding to an image source to each pixel for each frame, and the light emission period control line supplies a light emission period control signal. The light emitting element emits light based on the light emission period control signal, and the read image source is displayed on the image display section.
