<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a situation adaptable driving support system that optimally supports driving operation in accordance with various traveling conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The driving support system includes a model prediction unit 41 that sequentially decides an optimal assist amount by sequentially solving assist amount optimization problems while predicting a model; an actuator control device 20 that controls a deceleration actuator 10 on the basis of the optimal assist amount decided by the model prediction unit 41; a risk decision unit 42 that decides a risk of a vehicle; and a parameter adjusting unit 43 that adjusts a parameter included in the assist amount optimization problem in accordance with the risk decided by the risk decision unit 42.
