<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inclination detection device, an imaging device and method which can detect an inclination of an image in a short time and with high accuracy regardless of the contents of the image. <P>SOLUTION: A horizontal edge extraction processing part 70 performs a first time horizontal edge extraction process to an input image and a second time horizontal edge extraction process to an image processed by an expansion processing part 73. A blackening processing 71 performs a first blackening process to the image after the first horizontal edge extraction process and a second time blackening process to the image after the second horizontal edge extraction process. A binarization processing part 72 binarizes the image after the first blackening process. The expansion processing part 73 expands white pixel in the image after the binarization. A coordinate acquisition processing part 74 acquires a coordinate value of the white pixel in the image after the second blackening process. A straight line detection processing part 75 detects a straight line in the image after the second blackening process based on the coordinate value.
