<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration of a reception signal by decreasing effects of signal distortion that may occur during the gain adjustment of a receiving section in a radar device. <P>SOLUTION: A pulse signal is generated as a transmission signal by a pulse generator 101 and transmitted from an antenna 104 iteratively at fixed time intervals. A reception signal, which is received by the antenna 106, containing a reflection wave from an object is amplified by an amplifier 107, a gain adjustment is performed thereon by a variable attenuator 108, and a reception pulse of the reflection wave is then detected by a distance detector 111 to calculate a distance to the object. The variable attenuator 108 attenuates the reception signal with a gain adjusted in accordance with a gain control signal from a gain adjuster 113. The gain (attenuation amount) of the variable attenuator 108 is controlled to be maximum just after transmission of the pulse signal and to become smaller with the passage of time. Furthermore, gain adjustment timing to change the attenuation amount is made different each time the pulse signal is transmitted, on the basis of a gain adjustment timing signal from a timing adjuster 112. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
