The mechanism has an internal thermal exchanger (5) that is provided internal to a working volume (4) or peripheral to the working volume. Working fluid is contained in the working volume during thermal cycle. Mass of the working fluid contained in the working volume is constant till at the end of the cycle. A thermal storage device is fixed to the thermal exchanger. The thermal exchanger has a cavity that serves as a reservoir that is provided at interior of the exchanger.
