<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-phase three level power conversion device which can reduce losses generated in switching elements. <P>SOLUTION: In a single-phase three level power conversion device having a first half bridge and a second half bridge therein, either the first half bridge or the second half bridge is used to perform the half bridge operation when outputting a single-phase AC voltage with an amplitude that is half or less of the amplitude of a DC input voltage, and the bridge to perform half bridge operation is alternatively switched to reduce losses generated in switching elements in the power conversion device and to avoid the losses to intensively occur on particular switching elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
