<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing head supporting device which is immediately rocked and inclined by a small force when a processing head contacts an obstacle. <P>SOLUTION: The processing head supporting device supports a processing head 1 such as a laser beam machining head. A circular rocking and supporting member 11 is provided on a head supporting member 7 provided on a support frame 5 in a processing machine in a rockingly supporting manner in the X-axis direction. The rocking and supporting member 11 is urged toward the head supporting member 7 side. A Y-axis direction rocking and supporting member 15 is provided, which is rockingly supported by the rocking and supporting member 11 in a rockable manner in the Y-axis direction. A returning means 17 is provided between the Y-axis direction rocking and supporting member 15 and the head supporting member 7 so as to return the Y-axis direction rocking and supporting member 15 to the original position.
