<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump that properly injects a proper amount of fuel to each cylinder and reduces a harmful substance to be discharged. <P>SOLUTION: A detection shaft 43 including a plurality of slits 43a formed on its circumference surface is fixed to a plunger 41 of a fuel injection pump 3 so as to integrally reciprocate. A stroke sensor 24 is mounted on a lateral side of the detection shaft 43. When the plunger 41 and the detection shaft 43 are moved upward, the stroke sensor 24 detects the passing of the slits 43a and outputs it to an ECU 25. The ECU 25 identifies a position of the plunger 41 based on the output from the stroke sensor 24, and determines a moving distance of the plunger 41 based on the identified position. Further, the ECU 25 controls the plunger 41 to move the determined distance by controlling supply of oil pressure into an oil pressure chamber 54. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
