The invention relates to an apparatus for silicizing carbon-containing workpieces (1), comprising: a chamber (100) with an inlet (110) and an outlet (120), in the interior space of which there is a silicizing device (130); and a transporting device (200) with a fixed holding part (210), which extends between the inlet (110) and the silicizing device (130) and between the silicizing device and the outlet (120), and a transporting part (220), which comprises two beams (221, 222) that can move parallel to each other, wherein both the holding part (210) and the transporting part (220) have respective pairs of slots (210a, 220a), wherein the slots (210a, 220a) of each pair lie opposite one another with respect to a longitudinal axis L of the transporting device (200) and are designed directly for receiving a rod (10) or the workpiece, and wherein the transporting part (220) can be driven to execute a repeated cycle of movements which comprises a lifting movement, an advancing movement and a lowering movement, in order to move rods (10) that are resting on the holding part (210) in a cyclical manner along the longitudinal axis L from the inlet (110) to the silicizing device (130) and from the latter to the outlet (120). |
