PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance-processing device 1 which can subject a substance to be processed, such as food wastes, to very satisfactory and very efficient plasma reduction processing.

SOLUTION: A screw-composing part 71 of a lead screw 13 of a conveyer mechanism 6 includes a first group screw-composing part 72 which is located on the upstream side A and a second group screw-composing part 74 which is located on the downstream side B. The first group screw-composing part 72 does not have a substantial space between an external tube 11 and the part 72 itself. The second group screw-composing part 74 has at least a partially substantial space between an external tube 11 and the part 74 itself.
