<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical fiber ribbon and manufacturing apparatus capable of reducing a PMD value when assembling coated optical fibers each given with a twist during drawing to form into a ribbon. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to an optical fiber ribbon 20 in which a plurality of coated optical fibers 10 are aligned in parallel and formed into a ribbon in a manner of an integral coating 20a. The coated optical fibers 10 are fibers where a twist is given by swinging during drawings and a thickness of a resin coating which protects glass fibers is deviated. Before forming the coated optical fibers 10 into a ribbon with integral coating forming means 18, the coated optical fibers 10 are allowed to run through a free twist roller 16 guiding the coated optical fibers 10 without restricting rolling thereof to thereby perform concentration and to twist the same. Here, a thickness deviation free ratio of the coated optical fibers 10 is preferably within a range of 70-100%, and a flat groove roller having a uniform roller diameter in an axial direction is preferably used for the free twist roller 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
