<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material for sliding door type heat insulating door, in which a gasket can be attached to and detached from a base material in any direction and the gasket is stably held thereon. <P>SOLUTION: A packing material 1 includes a base material 2 made of a long aluminum-extruded section bar and long gaskets 3 made of elastic resin which is detachably attached to the base material 2. The base material 2 is fixed to a peripheral edge of a heat insulating door 41 by screws. The pair of gaskets 3 are attached to fitting grooves 7 in both sides in a lateral direction of the base material 2. The base material 2 has engaging flanges 9 each projecting from each of both side walls 8 of each of the fitting grooves 7, and engaging step parts 10 each formed of the surface of the engaging flange 9 and the inner side face of the side wall 8. The gasket 3 includes a fitting part 11 fitted to the fitting groove 7 and a pair of fin plate parts 12 extended from the fitting part 11. The fitting part 11 includes a base plate part 13, a pair of protruded edges 14, a pair of inclined plate part 15, and a pair of engaging protrusive pieces 16.
