PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of substantially equalizing an operation sound in operation, by comparing with an ordinary indoor unit unincorporated with an electrically-operated expansion valve, without enlarging a shape of the indoor unit, by comparing with the ordinary indoor unit unincorporated with the electrically-operated expansion valve. SOLUTION: This air conditioner has a heat exchanger 11 covering front, rear and upper portions of an air blowing fan 12 and the electrically-operated expansion valve 16 in casings 2A, 2B and 2C of the indoor units 2a and 2b. A cutout portion 29 is arranged in any one portion of a left end portion or a right end portion of the heat exchanger 11 and in a portion for covering the rear of the air blowing fan 12.
