<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic metal halide lamp which has a plurality of light emitting tubes and includes an outer bulb protection structure such that even if one light emitting tubes explodes, the outer bulb is not damaged. <P>SOLUTION: A ceramic metal halide lamp (10) includes a plurality of light emitting tubes (4-1, 4-2) one of which selectively illuminates, an outer bulb protection structure comprising a double inner tube arranged surrounding the light emitting tubes, and an outer bulb (2) which houses the light emitting tubes and the outer bulb protection structure. For example, the ceramic metal halide lamp has, as the outer bulb protection structure, individual open type inner tubes (22-1, 22-2) surrounding the respective light emitting tubes (4-1, 4-2), and both-end sealed type inner tubes (18A-1, 18A-2) surrounding the individual open type inner tubes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
