TRANSMISSION OF A TRIBUTARY IN SYNCHRONOUS MODE AT THE LEVEL OF A LINK OF A DATA NETWORK

The method involves modifying a synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH)or synchronous optical network (SONET)frame of a tributary to generate a modified frame, and transmitting the modified frame. A part of fixed pattern in a fixed pattern zone is removed, and positions of the fixed pattern part are stored. Replacement data are inserted at the level of the positions, where the data comprise supervision data. An independent claim is also included for a device for transmitting a tributary in synchronous mode at the level of a connection of a data network.
