Provided is a luminous medium by which whether or not securities, etc., are forgery can be discriminated easily and rapidly. A luminous medium (10) constituting securities comprises a luminous image (12). The luminous image (12) comprises a picture area (20) formed on a base (11) using a first fluorescent ink (13) containing a first phosphor, and a background area (25) formed on the base (11) using a second fluorescent ink (14) containing a second phosphor. When UV-A is irradiated, the first fluorescent ink (13) and the second fluorescent ink (14) respectively emit lights which are visually recognized as mutually different colors. Further, when UV-C is irradiated, the first fluorescent ink (13) and the second fluorescent ink (14) respectively emit lights which are visually recognized as mutually different colors, and colors different from the colors visually recognized when UV-A is irradiated.
