PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a writing system, which arranges recording data received from error processing by trying or alternative processing conventionally achieved from a rewrite-type optical disk or from a host device in an optional position irrespective of an unrecorded or recorded part, by a write-once type optical disk. SOLUTION: When the recorded state of an address requested to be recorded is detected from recorded state management information with respect to the recording request of user information from a host device, this recording device is used for transmitting an error to the host device in the case of the recording request of user information needed to be recorded in real time, and for recording the user information requested to be recorded in the unrecorded area of a space area in the case of the recording request of user information not needed to be recorded in real time and updating address correspondence information.
