PURPOSE: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided to have high operation voltage, high volume capacity density, and excellent charging/discharging cycle properties. CONSTITUTION: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material, non-aqueous solvent, and electrolytic salt. The positive electrode active material comprises a compound which is Li_a(Ni_bCo_cMn_d)_(1-x-y)W_xZr_yO_2. In chemical formula, 0.9<=a<=1.2, 0.3<=b<=0.6, 0.1<=c<=0.7, 0<=d<=0.4, b+c+d=1, 0.001<=x<=0.05, and 0.001<=y<=0.05. The non-aqueous solvent comprises 0.1-5 weight% of a compound selected from a group consisting of cyclohexylbenzene, tert-butylbenzene, and tert- amylbenzene, on the basis of the total weight of the non-aqueous electrolyte. |
