<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle rotary electric machine to which an air intake duct can be connected and which has small draft resistance and sufficient cooling efficiency, for example, a vehicle AC generator. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle AC generator 100 includes: a stator 4 around which a stator winding 6 is wound; a rotor 10 which is oppositely arranged on an inner periphery side of the stator 4; a rectifier 24 which converts AC voltage induced in the stator winding 6 into DC; and a rear cover 27 which cover the rectifier 24. The rear cover 27 includes an air intake duct connection portion 32 which is projected to an external side of a side and in which an air intake duct 200 is attached to a tip.
