<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens driving device which makes, by keeping the distance in a radial direction between a plurality of magnets and magnetic materials facing the respective magnets in the radial direction respectively constant, the magnetic force between each magnet and a magnetic plate approximately uniform, and to provide a camera module incorporated with the lens driving device. <P>SOLUTION: The lens driving device comprises: a base 30 having an approximately planar base; a holder holding a lens and movable, with respect to the base 30, in the direction of the optical axis of the lens; a plurality of magnets surrounding the lens from the radial direction of the lens and fixed to the holder; a case 40 attached to the base 30 and surrounding the holder; and magnetic plates 70 facing the plurality of magnets in the radial direction.
