<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tufted carpet that is dense, improved in texture and appearance, simply configured, and light-weight. <P>SOLUTION: The tufted carpet 10 includes pile yarns 12 implanted into a base fabric 11, and has a high density portion 13 having the pile yarns 12 implanted into the base fabric with a high density, and a low density portion 14 having the pile yarns 12 implanted into the base fabric with a low density. The fiber density of the high density portion 13 is in the range of 280 to 700 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>. The fiber density of the low density portion 14 is in the range of 200 to 500 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>. The fiber density of the high density portion 13 is set to a value greater than the fiber density of the low density portion 14.
