A method provides an anchoring member in a space formed between adjacent building elements, such as paving blocks 20, 21 or decking planks. The anchoring member includes a main body 23, 24 and a locating element, preferably a plate 22. The plate slots in between the building elements with the main body projecting above the wearing surfaces of the building elements. The anchoring member may have a top flange 23 acting as a depth stop. A base flange (57A, fig 13) may be provided to flank the base of the building elements. The base flange may be attached to the main body by a wire (56, fig 13) in place of the plate. The main body may include a connection for attaching an article or may itself form an article. The article may be an item of street furniture such as a sign post. |
