PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to eliminate bacteria of indoor air or surface of a storage by jetting steam inside the storage in order to improve sanitary conditions. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a main body, steam generating unit(200), and a steam jetting unit(100). The main body has a storage and the steam generating unit is installed in the main body. The steam generating unit comprises a water tank, a steam generating heater, a guide pipe, and a steam control valve. The steam generating heater is arranged in the water tank to generate steam by heating water. The guide pipe connects the water tank and the steam jetting unit. The steam control valve is arranged in the guide pipe or the water tank to control movement of the steam selectively. The steam jetting unit in the storage is connected to the steam generating unit and jets the steam inside the storage.
