<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid for a food packaging container which lid allows an adhesive tape to be removed easily and is hardly torn off when the adhesive tape is removed from the lid. <P>SOLUTION: The lid 1 for the food packaging container is formed by molding a synthetic resin sheet, has a vertically extended surface 5 fitted externally on a flange of a container body 8, and is entirely or partially subjected to an embossing process to form grain portions 7. The grain portions 7 has enhanced strength, which makes the lid 1 hard to tear. The grain portions 7 has irregularities making it difficult for an adhesive tape 10 to adhere to the grain portions.
