<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a loss time at switching on and off trays while decreasing power consumption used by unused sheet feeding trays in a sheet feeding device. <P>SOLUTION: When a near end of sheet remaining amount in the active sheet feeding tray 41a is detected, a sheet feeding tray redesignating means 701 specifies a second sheet feeding tray 41b where a sheet of the same as a first sheet feeding tray 41a is stored and a sheet feeding control means 501 starts supplying power to the second sheet feeding tray 41b to control the second sheet feeding tray 41b for preparation for sheet feeding. When it is detected that sheets stored in the first sheet feeding tray 41a runs out of sheet, the sheet feeding device stops supplying power to the first sheet feeding tray 41a and starts to supply sheets from the second sheet feeding tray 41b where sheet feeding preparation is completed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
