<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parakeratosis inhibitor, pore shrinking agent, or rough dry skin-preventing/ameliorating agent that has a high safety and has not any safety problem such as a sensible irritation. <P>SOLUTION: The parakeratosis inhibitor, pore shrinking agent, or rough dry skin-preventing/ameliorating agent includes compounds selected from the group consisting of 3-(1'-piperidine)-propionic acid, N-monomethyl-β-alanine, N-cyclohexyl-β-alanine, N-cyclohexylmethyl-β-alanine.
