The pump (1) has an adjustable closure element (4) for closing an inlet (2) and/or outlets (3, 3') of the pump. A temperature extension element (8) adjusts the closure element between closed- and opened positions depending on temperature. The closure element is formed as an axially displaceable closure sleeve (4') that is arranged on a pump impeller (5). An annular space-shaped retainer (7) is formed at a rear side (6) of the impeller to retain the extension element, which is designed as a wax element, a bi-metal extension element, an electrically controlled thermostat and a heated thermostat.
