<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel engine which enables deterioration of an exhaust gas and degradation of a fuel consumption rate to be prevented, while improving ignition performance of fuel. <P>SOLUTION: In the diesel engine 1 including intake valves 4 to introduce gas into a combustion chamber 2 provided in a cylinder head 3 that fronts the combustion chamber 2, exhaust valves 5 provided in a cylinder head 3 and adapted to exhaust a gas in the combustion chamber 2, and a fuel injection nozzle 6 provided in the cylinder head 3 in between the intake valves 4 and the exhaust valves 5 to inject fuel into the combustion chamber 2, the fuel injection nozzle 6 has a plurality of jet holes 12 radially disposed to inject fuel and at least one 12 of these jet holes 12 directed to the intake valve 4 side is formed smaller-sized than the other jet holes 12 to make up a small-diameter jet hole 13 so that it may serve to finely atomize fuel and inject the finely atomized fuel to the intake valve 4 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
