PURPOSE: A radar system and a scan speed setting method therein are provided to increase an intruder's detection probability by the accurate detection of high-accessible area. CONSTITUTION: A radar system comprises a radar(110), a controller(130), and a display unit(140). The radar detects a target. The display unit indicates the target detected in the radar. The controller sets up the scan speed classified into the detection area according to topography and environment condition around the fixed radar and drives the radar according to the scan speed.
