Handles.-In making a tubular rubber handle cover or hand grip for a cricket bat, tennis racket, golf club, or the like hav. ing near one or both ends, bands 2, 3 of indiarubber of a colour or colours different from the tube, the bands of coloured indiarubber are placed in position on the tube prior to vulcanization and the whole is subjected to a final vulcanization to produce the finished article. The coloured bands, besides enhancing the appearance of the covers, afford a means of identifying the bats &c. of different teams.</p> |
