PURPOSE: A card type spectrum analyzer and a method thereof are provided to check the malfunction of a relay by being connected to a relay if necessary. CONSTITUTION: A card-shaped spectrum analyzer(100) comprises a plug-in module(110), a monitoring module(120), and a processing control module(130). The plug-in module maintains the connection state to a relay by insertion into a slot formed in the relay. The monitoring module engages during insertion and activates a spectrum analysis function. The processing control module uses the activated spectrum analysis function to monitor for relay malfunctions.
