PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic paper capable of suppressing a decrease in responsiveness of display pixels in certain areas.

SOLUTION: The electronic paper has a display area for displaying images of a plurality of pages each of which is constituted of a plurality of lines of character strings. For each page of the displayed images, drawing areas for displaying character strings of lines constituting the page in the display area and non-drawing areas for displaying line-spaces between the character strings of lines constituting the page are determined (S103). At that time, the drawing areas of the page are determined in such a manner that at least a part of the drawing areas in all pages from the second page and after in the displayed images overlaps with non-drawing areas of their immediately previous page.
