Disclosed is an organic EL element that is formed using a novel electron injection material that is comparatively stable in an atmosphere that is around standard pressure. A preferred embodiment of the organic EL element is provided with a supporting substrate, a positive electrode, a light-emitting layer, an electron injection layer, and a negative electrode in the given order. The electron injection layer is formed by means of applying an ink containing an ionic polymer to form a film. The negative electrode is formed by means of applying an ink containing an ink containing a material that is to become said negative electrode to form a film, or by means of transferring a conductive thin film that is to become said negative electrode. |
