PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a display module so as to prevent reduction of display quality while causing the display module to intermittently operate.

SOLUTION: A control unit 30 controls a liquid crystal module 14 having a scanning mode for scanning processing which converts display data into a display image, and a pause mode for pausing the scanning processing. In the control unit 30, a moving-image decoding part 31 decodes encoded moving image data and obtains display data of each still image included in the moving image; an update period obtaining part 32 obtains an update period of the moving image; an intermittent control device 18 periodically indicates the scanning mode and the pause mode so that a repetition period of the scanning mode and the pause mode synchronizes with the update period obtained by the update period obtaining part 32; and a display control device 15 transmits the display data to the liquid crystal module 14 when the scanning mode is instructed.
