<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for turning off the device when a stop instruction is issued. <P>SOLUTION: A memory control device according to an embodiment comprises a control means, a command queue means, a plurality of stage processing means, and a skip means. The control means controls processing of commands for data access to a nonvolatile memory from a host. The command queue means queues transfer request commands corresponding to the commands. The stage processing means executes stage processing relating to the transfer request commands queued by the command queue means.
