METHOD OF CONTROLLING EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION IN TURBOCHARGED ENGINE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for efficiently reducing exhaust gas in a system provided with both high pressure/low pressure EGR systems for an exhaust gas recirculation system in an engine turbocharged system.

SOLUTION: The method for controlling EGR includes a step 330 for determining a target total EGR fraction for compliance with exhaust emissions criteria, and a step 335 for determining a target high pressure/low pressure EGR ratio to reduce induction temperature within the constraints of the target total EGR fraction. The control method of EGR includes a step of determining the target high pressure/low pressure EGR ratio to control engine knock.
