<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and portable electronic equipment with high resolution in which foreign matter can be prevented from entering the imaging device from the outside during transportation of the imaging device and foreign matter inside the imaging device can be removed. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device includes a lens 3 that forms an optical image of a subject on an image pickup device 1, a lens holder 4 that houses the lens 3 and has a light transmitting hole 4d at a center part of a top surface 4a on the subject side, an outer holder 5 that engages with the lens holder 4, and a cover 6 having an opening 6a that exposes the top surface 4a of the lens holder 4, and enclosing the lens holder 4 and the outer holder 5. A film sheet 21 that includes an adhesion layer 20 for adhesion on a top surface 6b of the cover 6 and closes the opening 6a of the cover 6 is provided on the top surface 6b of the cover 6.
