ADDITIONAL FAN UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can install an additional cooling device thereon as needed and whose inside can always be cooled down to an appropriate temperature with a minimum number of cooling devices, and an additional fan unit which can be easily installed on the image forming apparatus.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has an opening 10c for installation of an additional fan unit 80 comprising: a fan unit cover 81 which has an opening for supplying or discharging air; cooling fans 82 and 83 installed on the fan unit cover 81; and a connecting terminal DC2 which carries current to the cooling fans 82 and 83. An opening cover 10d for closing the opening 10c has the same external dimension as that of the fan unit cover 81. The opening 10c is provided with a connecting terminal DC1 for connection to the connecting terminal DC2 on the additional fan unit 80 side.
