An exercise apparatus comprises an annular counterweight body (4) and a handle (8) connected to the counterweight body (4). The handle (8) is provided at a radial position of the annular counterweight body (4). Ends of the handle (8) are detachably fastened on the annular counterweight body (4). Protective covers (3, 9) are embedded in an inner surface of the annular counterweight body (4), and cover the joints between the annular counterweight body (4) and the handle (8) to form externally smooth surfaces. Each surface of the exercise apparatus is a smooth surface by utilizing the protective covers (3, 9) and the corresponding structural configuration of the two ends of the handle (8), which can effectively prevent the user from being hurt.
