<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting shapes which can prevent a rotor from tilting, even in the case the width of an edge of a rolling plate acting on a spinning rotor is narrow, prevent the spinning rotor from tilting even when the width of the rotor is narrow, reduce the contact resistance between rotors, bring air to flow out from a gap between the rotors to the outside, prevent cooling water or the like from flowing in from the gap, and significantly reduce the inertia moment of the spinning rotor. <P>SOLUTION: The shape detecting apparatus comprises a horizontal support shaft 12; a plurality of spinning rotors 14 which are rotatably supported in its floating state by the support shaft 12, using an air bearing and are arranged adjacently; and a plurality of pressure detectors 16, which detect an air pressure on the inner surface of the spinning rotor. Furthermore, a buffer member 18 is disposed between adjacent spinning rotors, to keep the gap between rotors and the gap between the spinning rotor and the support shaft, such that they do not contact with each other, and the ratio B/h of width B to thickness h of the spinning rotor is set at a value of not smaller than 2.27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
