The cable conduit profile is assembled into a cable conduit with a rectangular cross-section having a base (3), 2 opposing sidewalls (2,4) and a cover (5) which can be opened for insertion or removal of the electrical cables. The profile comprises a flat strip (1a) with longitudinal notches (6) defining the fold lines between the base (3), the sidewalls (2,4) and the cover (5) and interlocking profile elements (7,8) on either side of each of these notches (6) for maintaining the profile in the assembled position. The opposing side edges of the strip (1a) have interlocking profile elements (9,10), for securing the free edge of the cover (5) to the top edge of the adjacent sidewall (2).
