摘要 <p>A capacitor assembly comprising a solid electrolytic capacitor element 33 which comprises an anode, a dielectric layer and a cathode, where the cathode includes a layer of solid electrolyte; an anode lead 16 is provided extending in a direction from the capacitor element 33; first 72 and second 172 cathode terminations, and an anode termination 62; the first cathode termination 72 contains a first portion that is substantially parallel to a lower surface of the capacitor element 39 and in electrical contact therewith, and the second cathode termination 172 contains a second portion that is substantially parallel to an upper surface of the capacitor element 37 and in electrical contact therewith; further a casing 58 is provided that encapsulates the capacitor element 33 and leaves exposed at least a portion of the anode termination 16, the first cathode termination 72 and/or the second cathode termination 172. Also disclosed is a method for producing a capacitor assembly where the anode and cathode terminations are provided by positioning the capacitor element 33 on a lead frame. Through the disclosed "sandwich" configuration, the degree of surface contact between the cathode terminations 72,172 and capacitor element 33 is increased, which can help dissipate heat and allow it to handle higher currents that would normally cause overheating.</p>
