摘要 358,602. Coin-freed game apparatus. McCURD, W. A., 4, Langham Place, London. July 15, 1930, No. 21443. [Class 132 (ii).] Relates to a coin-freed game or amusement apparatus of the type in which a missile is thrown at or propelled towards a target and (if the operation is successful) automatically operates the apparatus to deliver or permit the delivery of a prize, a token or any suitable article. According to the invention the apparatus comprises means, operated by the weight of the coin, for delivering a missile to a playing position, a compartmented prize-wheel angularly movable in a vertical plane and arranged to receive the coin at one side thereof, a detent or escapement device holding the wheel against angular movement and means whereby the detent is, or may be, released by, or on the, successful operation of the apparatus. A coin inserted into the apparatus is received in a compartment 11 on a lever 12 which is thereby rocked into the lower position shown and delivers the coin to one of the compartments 19 of a wheel 18. At the same time, the lever raises a hoist 31 and delivers a playing ball 33 from a channel 42 to a channel 34 whence the ball runs into position on the playing area. In a modification the hoist 31 is replaced by a lever terminating in a ball-holding pocket. If the ball has been successfully played, for example, by manipulating an effigy 51, Fig. 3, of a golfer by means of external knobs, the ball falls upon a pivoted run-way 35 which is thereby rocked into the lower position shown by broken lines, to deliver the ball to the hoist 31, and at the same time, by means of a cam 37 on the lever, to depress a lever 39 and raise a link 25. The link is connected to two pawls 20, 21 which are actuated relative to an escapement wheel 23 so as to permit the compartment wheel 18 to rotate through one step under the weight of the contained coins. A guard plate 44 prevents the emptying of a compartment until it reaches a discharge shoot 43. The sides of the compartments are transparent so that the coins may be observed. The coins accruing as the result of unsuccessful attempts accumulate in the uppermost receiving compartment, the ball being returned to the hoist by an inoperative route. The surface of the putting green 57, Fig. 3, may be constituted by green pile fabric such as turkisb towelling.
