PURPOSE: An organic light emitting diode and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a gas from being discharged from the outside or an organic film to an organic light emitting layer. CONSTITUTION: A buffer layer(51), a gate insulating layer(53), and a planarized film(59) are formed on a substrate(50). A pixel electrode(161) is formed on the planarized film. A pixel definition layer exposes the pixel electrode. An intermediate layer(162) is arranged on the pixel electrode and emits light. A first ion implantation layer(171) is formed on the pixel definition layer.
