DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING THE REMOVAL OF LOBSTER MEAT FROM THE TAIL OF A LOBSTER

A method and apparatus for removing meat from a lobster tail is provided. The apparatus includes a first blade having a sharp edge and a second blade having a sharp edge, the first blade and second blade pivotally connected so that the sharp edge of the second blade can be moved in a shearing motion relative to the sharp edge of the first blade from an open position to a closed position. The apparatus can be used to remove the meat form a lobster tail by inserting the lower blade into an open end of the lobster tail and then moving the second blade into the closed position thereby cutting through the shell of the lobster tail.
