<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye compound for a black ink and an ink composition thereof, which have a high solubility to a medium containing water as a major component, are stable even in the long-term preservation of a high-concentration aqueous solution and ink, have a very high printed image density, cause no bronzing on an image even in printing a high-concentration solution, have a fastness of a printed image, and can give a recorded image of black excellent especially in both light fastness and ozone gas resistance. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a trisazo compound represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof.
