<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of ensuring normal IP-FAX communication even under DoS attack or the like without making the user aware of the attack. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for IP-FAX communication changes the receiving port on detecting unauthorized communication and determines whether or not the detected unauthorized communication has passed through an SIP server on the network. If the apparatus determines that the unauthorized communication has passed through the SIP server, the apparatus requests the SIP server 213 to delete the previous receiving port before change.
