<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater with a water reduction function for supplying water whose damage to the skin is small. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater is provided with: a hot water storage tank 2; a water/heat exchanger 9; and a water reduction means 13. The water reduction means 13 is provided with; a diaphragm 16 for separating a gap across a pair of electrodes 15a and 15b into a channel 17b and a channel 17a; a spacer 19 for accelerating the flow velocity of hot water in the channel 17a; and a degassing means 20 arranged at the outlet side of the channel 17b. The water heater is configured, in the case of supplying hot water, to introduce the hot water of the hot water storage tank 2 to the water reduction means 13, and to apply a voltage across the electrodes 15a and 15b, and to output the hot water whose oxidation reduction potential is decreased by an electrode reaction where hydrogen gas generated in the channel 17a is made to secede in such a state that it is adhered to the surface of the electrode 15a as minute bubbles. Thus, it is possible to improve the dissolving efficiency of hydrogen gas, and to decrease the oxidation reduction potential. Also, bubble diameters of oxidation gas and chlorine gas generated in the channel 17b are made large since a flow velocity at which it flows on the surface of the electrode 15b is low so that it is possible to reduce the dissolution of the chlorine gas, and to reduce hypochlorite ions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
