<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: a conventional locking mechanism of seat slide rail is configured so that an operation body fixed onto a handle oscillates with a hinge pin as a pivot axis and deforms an engagement body for locking a lower rail and an upper rail for lock release; therefore, there is a need to caulk components associated with the hinge pin and the hinge pin. <P>SOLUTION: A locking mechanism of seat slide rail includes: an engagement body 12 which is pivoted on an upper rail 3 and concurrently locks or releases a lower rail 2 and the upper rail; and a handle bracket 10 which has an operation part for operating the engagement body, a handle holder for fixing a handle and a pivot board swingably retained on a pivot window 40 disposed between the operation part and the handle holder and disposed between the rail bracket and the upper rail.
