PURPOSE: A composition containing Acer mono Max. sap is provided to effectively suppress the expression of nitric oxide synthetaase and to prevent and treat gastric ulcer and gastritis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating gastric ulcer and gastritis contains Acer mono Max. sap as an active ingredient. The Acer mono Max. sap is powder prepared by filtering the sap and freeze-drying or a solution of the powder. The NOS(nitric oxide synthetase) is iNOS(inducible NOS) or nNOS(neuronal NOS). The composition is manufactured in the form of a suspension, emulsion, powder, granule, tablet, capsule, or injection.
